About this Project

Flow offered an immersive performance experience that explores how we can find and maintain states of flow in our everyday lives and in relation to our environment. This project draws inspiration from the mystique of natural bodies of water and my longstanding relationship with the outdoors, where I often find myself lost in my own imagination and endeavoring to capture the beauty of nature through photography and video.
Intuition in Motion emerged as the embodiment project rooted in the thematic explorations of Flow. Delving into the intersection of dance and meditation, I sought to evoke and establish sensations akin to the flow state through a series of movement explorations before beginning choreography with a larger group. Throughout 2023, Flow unfolded into four distinct iterations that were performed in San Francisco, Oakland, and Berkeley. The project culminated in a fully realized exhibition and performance experience in Oakland, California in October 2023 as a part of my first artist residency with New Performance Traditions. |
Flow takes the spotlight in the Fall 2023 issue of In Dance with Dancers' Group! It has been a delight to share more about the creation of Flow and the influences that have shaped it with an organization that has tremendously supported bringing this version to fruition.
