Capturing live.
I began filmmaking over 6 years ago while chasing the desire to capture dance on camera. At the time, I yearned for a way to create work that could be shared more broadly than live performance. Dance film is a special medium because of its ability to integrate physical and digital movement. However, I also came to love the ability to capture the world around me, even when dance was not the core focus. The relationship between the physical and digital worlds serves as a major source of inspiration for all of my projects. I also thoroughly enjoy recording nature through video and photography in my free time. For me, filming serves as a time capsule for time and place, movement and the moment, and our ever-changing world. |
