Dance is how I connect to my soul.
I began taking dance classes at a young age and pursued training in several styles during my upbringing. While I was still living in the New York region, I had the opportunity to train with Dance Theatre of Harlem, Mark Morris Dance Group, and the Radio City Rockettes. Since relocating to the Bay Area, I have shifted my practice from traditional technique training into an integrated approach that has allowed me to better understand my foundations as a mover. My practice is deeply rooted in ecosomatics, defined by the integration of movement with the natural world. I pursue holistic wellness and aspire to capture the metaphysical essence of nature through choreographic inquiry, digital arts, and community dialogue. As a dancer, my style is a fusion of jazz, contemporary, hip-hop, and freestyle. My teaching journey began in 2019. I enjoy teaching students of all ages outdoors, in dance studios, schools, pop-up events, and through private lessons. I firmly believe that dance education can draw out our work ethic, confidence, and inner performers. My approach to teaching focuses on maximizing the potential of a student’s current skill level in order to help my students fall in love with the process of growing through meaningful challenges. It is extremely rewarding to watch my students grow as they become more comfortable expressing themselves by moving in their bodies. |
